OUR HYDROELECTRICAL POWER PLANTS

Hydraulic energy generation from renewable energy sources are energy sources which has the most advanced technological development within the renewable energy resources. The potential energy of water relocated by rain and snow is transformed into electricity by means of turbines and generators. Hydroelectric is in the group of energy sources that are described as renewable because precipitation is repeated every year.

Hydroelectric power generation plants do not produce emissions that cause air pollution and greenhouse effect like the thermal power plants operating with conventional fossil resources. In addition, they are regarded as environmentally sensitive and clean energy types since waste products such as reaction outputs and particulate matters do not emerge.

Hydroelectric power plants are used not only in energy generation but also used to improve irrigation in agriculture, to prevent floods due to excessive rainfall, to give aesthetic view from afforestation and to increase water quality. They also store the water that the dwelling units require.

Similarly, we are making a contribution equivalent to 1,641,750 tree planting by preventing 32,835 tons of CO2 emissions with 55 million kWh of energy generation per year while being aware of our responsibility for the environment as Adsel Energy.

OUR WIND POWER PLANTS

Wind energy is a natural, renewable, environmentally friendly, clean and endless power, and its source is sun. Agriculture and animal husbandry can be carried out in areas between turbines and it does not prevent farming activities in agricultural lands. Wind turbines do not damage the land structure in the installation area, wind farms can be easily dismantled and their locations can be easily restored. It does not produce harmful greenhouse gases and prevents new gas formations unlike thermal power plants.

As CS Energy, we selected the geographical regions where our wind power plants to be built carefully by taking into account environmental impacts to not to cause noise, to cause birds to modify their migration routes, and not to create parasites in radio and television receivers.

Our projects will contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in proportion to electricity generation. In the construction phase of the project and in the operation of the plant, priority was given to the employment of the people of the region. In addition, the Gold Standard is preferred for carbon certification processes of all projects. The Gold Standard gives certificate evaluating the compliance with the criteria, including whether projects will contribute to CO2 emission reductions, ensure that local people participate in the project, respect nature, and meet sustainable development indicators (biodiversity, sustainability of natural resources, air quality and water quality, etc.). When we look from this angle, our projects are evaluated and certified not only by the emission reductions they achieved but also by their contribution to the region and the environment in which they are located.

CS Energy will generate approximately 275 million kWh of electricity per year from Wind Power Plants and will provide 164,175 tonnes of CO2 reduction annually.

Our projects' carbon financing revenues and our fund created in CS Energy will be spent on projects that will contribute to the personal development and studies of the girls in the region.

In addition, some buildings were repaired upon request of the villagers within the framework of corporate social responsibility.

CS Energy continues its activities by showing utmost attention to the environment and human health in its projects. Within the scope of corporate social responsibility, it establishes good relations with the people of the region and supports them in line with the needs of the society during the construction and operation periods of its investments.

OUR SOLAR POWER PLANTS

Ado GES, which belongs to Ado Mining Company within the body of CS Group, and Yurtcim GES, which belongs to Yurt Cement Company, are working with 1 MWe installed power each. Our plants are located in Yurt Cement factory site in Küçük Buzi Kinsor location, Muş Taşoluk village. They were commissioned in August 2016. Our Solar Power Plant will generate 3.146 MWh of energy per year and reduce emission equivalent to 1,878 tons of CO2. This value corresponds to the amount of CO2 consumed by 93,900 trees per year.

*Calculations of Carbon Emission Amount were made in accordance with the methodology of UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) ACM002. EF = 0.597
** Equivalent tree planting calculations are made according to information by TEMA foundation. It is assumed that 1 tree receives 20 kg of CO2 per year.
